Volunteers: Capital Area Humane Society

At the Humane Society, there are numerous events in August that need volunteers to help. To help engage new people, all of the positions require no advance training.

Listed below is more information about the volunteer opportunities. All of the events are a lot of fun and it would be great to get area young professionals involved.

Westerville Mutt March
Friday, August 24, 2007, 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
4th annual event in uptown Westerville (West College Avenue & State Street)
Volunteer Needs: 3-5 volunteers to register participants and to help with the 1 mile march through Westerville.

Northarlington Animal Clinic Yard Sale

Annual yard sale to benefit the Capital Area Humane Society’s Second Chance program
5011 Dierker Road, Columbus, OH 43220
Volunteer Needs: 10-15 volunteers for yard sale set-up from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., 4-6 volunteers to work the yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 10-15 volunteers for tear-down/clean up from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Volunteers can work in shifts (i.e. 7 am – Noon, or Noon- 6 to help cover positions throughout the day)

WAG!

1st annual dog friendly festival at Prairie Oaks Metro Park
Volunteer Needs: 4 – 5 volunteers to register participants for the WAG! Wilderness Walk from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and 2 -3 volunteers to distribute information about the Humane Society during the festival from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Just for Pooches Picnic

3rd annual picnic to benefit the Capital Area Humane Society held at the Companion Club Dog Park
6306 Home Road, Delaware, OH 43015
Volunteer Needs: 6 volunteers to help with set-up from 10:00 a.m. – Noon. All other positions are during the event from 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. – 8 volunteers to register guests, 4 volunteers to help with food and beverage service, 4 volunteers to wash dogs, 2 gate attendants and 4 floaters.
